Privacy Policy

The short version

• If you just play without signing in, we don't store an account for you.
• If you sign in with Google, we keep only your email, name, and profile picture.
• We save your game scores so your progress isn't lost.
• The site carries ads and we measure how it's used — but analytics and advertising cookies only run if you allow them, and you can change that at any time fromcookie settings.
• We never sell or rent your data.

What we collect

If you don't sign in

We don't create an account or store your scores on our servers — anonymous play stays in your browser. The third-party services below may still run, but only the ones you've agreed to.

If you sign in with Google

When you sign up, Google shares with us only:

• Your email address
• Your name
• Your profile picture (an image URL hosted by Google)

That's it. We never receive your Google password, your contacts, or anything else from your Google account.

When you play

Each time you finish a challenge, we save the result so your progress is kept between sessions:

• Number of correct answers and the total questions
• The difficulty you played
• The date and time

Cookies and tracking

The first time you visit, we ask what you're happy for us to use. Until you choose, analytics and advertising storage stay switched off (Google Consent Mode defaults todenied), and Microsoft Clarity isn't loaded at all.

Strictly necessary — always on

• Your sign-in session, so you stay logged in (Supabase).
• Your light/dark preference and your cookie choice, stored in your browser.

These aren't used to track you, and the site can't work without them.

Analytics — only with your consent

• Google Analytics 4 — which pages and games get played, and roughly where visitors come from.
• Microsoft Clarity — anonymised session replays and heatmaps that show where the site confuses people.

Advertising — only with your consent

Google AdSense pays for the hosting that keeps every game free. Refusing doesn't remove the ads — it means you're shown generic ones rather than ones chosen from your browsing.

We ask again every six months, and you can change or withdraw your answer whenever you like:

What we do with it

• To create and manage your account.
• To save your game progress and scores.
• To show your name and picture on the public leaderboard.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent your data to anyone.
• We don't hand your account details — email, name, scores — to advertisers.
• We don't run analytics or advertising cookies if you've said no.
• We don't store payment card or banking details.

The public leaderboard

Your display name, profile picture, and total correct answers appear on the public leaderboard so players can compare scores. Your email address is never shown publicly.

How your data is protected

Your data is stored in a hosted database (Supabase). Every account is protected by row-level security, which means you can only read and change your own records — no other player can access them.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete your account and everything tied to it at any time. Email us athello@dodothinks.onlineand we'll remove your data.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top of this page. We'll only start collecting new types of data with your consent.
